Joshua folded his arms and rested his brown-haired head in them. "Stop your whining," scoffed a reedy voice. "Shut up, Phineas," he growled to the painting. "When I was headmaster, I ceased any whining and confronted the situation," he said, wrinkling his nose. "I am!" he mumbled, lifting his head to look at the painting.
He had a pregnant seventh year and her boyfriend to deal with. What would they do with their child? Would they keep it at Hogwarts? Would it go home to one of their parents? Would they leave to care for the child themselves? He had no clue.
"Don't be too harsh on them, Joshua," instructed his great uncle. "I know, I know," he muttered, his sharp eyes looking to the door as three sharp raps on it caught his attention. The Dumbledore behind him looked up too, as did Phineas and the rest of the paintings in his office. "P-Professor Dumbledore?" came a timid girl's voice. "Come in," he instructed as the door opened and Alicia sidled in.

Lucas strode in behind Alicia, moving to her side as he entered the room. Any younger student would be intimated by the big Ravenclaw boy as he stood protectively beside the pregnant girl. His bright green eyes were - of once - hard, empty of an humor or good-mood. Truthfully, his patience with his Headmaster had already been pushed to it's limits by making the heavily pregnant Alicia have to walk all the way to his office.

"Please take a seat," he instructed.
Alicia flopped down into one of the ornate seats, not angry or tired, just worried about what Professor Dumbledore would do to her. Would he kick her out of school? She certainly hoped not.
"Obviously, I've seen the situation here," he said quietly. "And I need to know - what do you plan on doing with your child?" he asked, eyeing Alicia directly.
He didn't have an angry or disappointed face on, yet Alicia gulped as though he was shouting at her. "Well....we were thinking of....just caring for them.....here," she mumbled. "T-They can just stay in my room. I-I'm sure Kate wouldn't mind," she continued, biting her lip. Would he make her go back home or would he allow them to do this? She cast a glance to Lucas who was watching the headmaster with cold eyes. She didn't like that face on him - it wasn't the regular Lucas. He was angry - that was wierd for him. Usually he was upbeat and cheerful around her. This made her even more nervous.
"That.....could work," he said slowly while he mulled over the situation in his head. "You will need to take certain measures to be sure that the child will not disrupt class until the end of the year," he warned. "You must watch it carefully and make sure it is cared for. You will also need to inform Professor Lonosom of the situation. He may already know, though."
Alicia nodded a shaky jerk of her head.

Lucas sat down stiffly under the Professor's instructions. He listened, fuming, to the old Professor's quiet voice as he spoke directly to Alicia. He held his tongue angrily, waiting until Dumbledore spoke to him directly before he said anything.
He listened to Alicia's response, his temper rising a notch as she murmured and stuttered. She was nervous and scared and he hated it. He felt terrible when she was like that. His hard green eyes flicked to her, worry creeping in. He knew he must be making her anxious, too; he was rarely ever like this and it was only now that there was a serious worry put in front of him that the anger came. Not only one, but two. Joshua's reaction and Alicia's health. She should be resting!
He jerked his head slightly, a tense nod.

His eyes narrowed thoughtfully for a moment before he sighed a quiet sigh. "Very well. That was all I wanted to know. You can go now," he said, dismissing the students.
Alicia got up shakily, very relieved that she and Lucas could just have their children and not have to leave the school. "Thanks," she mumbled before bolting out the door.
Joshua heard an unhappy "hmpf," from behind him. "Phineas. I know you may have run things differently in your school, but that was centuries ago. Times are different now," he said quietly, still looking after Alicia, not turning to face the annoying portrait.

Lucas got up, following after Alicia at a slower pace. Before he left, he heard the bickering painting and his Headmaster speaking.
Once out of the office, he hurried after Alicia, worried. "Alicia, slow down!" he insisted anxiously. She shouldn't be running around. he thought, feeling the worry gnaw at him.

She stopped abruptly and waited where she stood, watching the ground anxiously.
It was so obvious now - why hadn't she realized that? What did everyone else see her as? She knew she looked like some stupid girl getting pregnant as soon as she found the boy she liked. She held back tears and waited for Lucas to catch up with her.

Lucas wrapped his strong arms around her when he caught up, his expression instantly softening at the sight of her tears. He raised one hand to gently wipe away the salty drops of water, pressing his lips against her forehead and cheeks before touching them to her own. "What's wrong?" he whispered, green eyes worried.

"Nothing," she murmured, her small hands wrapping around his muscled arms. She tightened her grip as if holding him closer. "We just....need to talk," she said, setting off for the Ravenclaw common room.
OOC-Let's start this back in the Emotional Rollar Coaster thread. =3
